Default DJM-900 NXS Mixer Now or Wait for the next generation (Traktor User)

    Hey guys,

would like some suggestions on the Pioneer DJM-900NXS Mixer.

thinking about getting it due to the clubs i play at usually have this mixer and and i also would like a hot 4-channel mixer to do mixing and recording. In 2015 it will be it's 4th year after release, i was wondering if i should wait for the next generation. suggestions welcomed. thanks in advance.

    currently using NI Traktor Z2/ X1/ F1

The chances of clubs upgrading immediately? ...dunno, but probably not. So you'll be safe. I agree though, 4-years post release is a lot.

IMO pioneer seem to be more focused on controllers rather than their mixer line up. the DJM900 Nexus and DJM2000 Nexus aren't going to go away anytime soon IMO. if there is anything in the pipeline id say it would be this time next year before we hear

I was curious about it as well earlier this year...

    Mixer Timeline:

    2009-03 DJM 2000
    2011-02 DJM 900NSX
    2012-03 DJM 850
    2012-12 DJM 2000NSX
    2013-04 DJM 750
    2013-09 DJM 900SRT

    Did I miss any?

Even some 10+ year old mixers still kickass in the right hands ... Xone92, DJM800 etc. Being older than 4 years does not mean it wont be up to scratch mate. Mixers at their core are pretty basic tech.

Thanks for the feedback, i totally agree (still have some 6+ years gears they still perform). I am just debating on the value since most likely a new Pioneer flagship mixer will be out soon by/in 2015, they ought to progress to make money even though the mixers are more or less a like.

Clubs will likely to start change like they did with DJM-800 to DJM-900/ 2000. Hence, i hesitated to wait for 2015 release.

^ agreed. If you like pioneer a djm 800 in good nick is still a good buy and is still in allot of clubs!

So...what exactly was different between the 900 and 800? A couple effects and turning the platter halo on CDJ900s and 2000s red when the channel is live...

If you want one, I see 2 good reasons to wait: you don't want to see it's used value plumet, or you want to take advantage of the lower used price. I doubt they'll do anything groundbreaking with the next one.
