Default 8 Output Soundcard - Advice Please

    Hi All

Hopefully you help me out here...

A while ago I sold my whole Traktor, software, Audio 8, X1, timecode vinyls, the lot. Didn't think I'd use it any more. I went to a more 'live' set up with Ableton and a bunch of controllers.

Now I've picked up a new DJ residency I need to slim my set up back down. So I've made myself a template in TouchOSC that mimics an X1 and I'm going to use my Maschine for drums and pads.

This will just be a test set up so I need a new soundcard that'll give me 8 outputs (4 'decks') to let me have two Traktor decks, and two feeds from Maschine for the drums and pads.

I don't to spend a fortune, that's why I haven't went for an Audio 10 as yet as I'm only going to be testing this set up out for a few gigs to see if I like it.

Any suggestions on a cheap soundcard that'll let me do this? I'd rather buy a new one that 2nd hand.

I've searched online and most threads seem to be from a few years back.

    Thanks, in advance!

Sound interfaces with four stereo outputs tend to be few and expensive.

The Behringer FCA610 seems to fit the requirements of 8 outputs, "cheap," and new.

This sound interface is NOT Traktor certified, so no timecode. If you need timecode, you have to fork over the $$$.

Behringer has had a questionable reputation that was earned 20 years ago. In the last 5-8 years I have been impressed with the quality of (almost) everything I have bought from Behringer. IME, they are among the best at entry level price points. The reviews on various websites of this sound interface are generally favorable. Even so, I have not used this card so I can not give a personal recommendation.

The Gigaport HD is another choice, that also meets the requirements. It is $50-ish cheaper, but has no inputs. I have also not used this sound interface.

    Thanks!

I'd used the original gigaport a few years back and it was ok, didn't last very long though due to the plastic casing. That one does look a lot sturdier.

I'll look into both of these!

I know you said you didn't want to buy used - but I have an MOTU Ultralite MKII (Firewire only) that I'd sell.

It is a lovely piece of equipment. All metal construction.

Make me a sensible offer. (It was around £400 new - but it's 5 or so years old. Perfect condition, though).
