cdj 900/2000 nexus question

can you use only ONE usb stick with the 900/2000 nexus even if you aren't using the djm900nxs mixer?

ie. if i use the DJM850 and have 2 cdj900nxs and just run that LAN cable between them? or do i still have to use 2 usb sticks?

Yeah, you can do that. The mixer doesn't need to be on the LAN to share music, just to beat-sync the mixer's effects and change the platter to the on-air color.

ah dope, so i can just TAP in my beat anyways for the color FX anyways, right? saves me from matching USB's?

AND would the deck sync work, or would i need the djm900 for that? (doesn't matter either way, just haven't found these questions anywhere)
