Actually....the recording classes I've taken, the professor was vehement about that part...that it didn't matter if you were running HD3 and had a collection of fully tuned rooms and an API console just for the drum bus....if you didn't have a lava lamp, it wasn't a real studio.

I have yet to be in a pro studio that didn't have at least one. The one I worked at for a while, turning it on was on the checklist of things to do before an artist came in (we had one in each control room).

I love the atmosphere the glow from a lava lamp brings to a room, when I get my GoPro I'll take a night shot.

There are some that disagree, and state ferns are where it's at.

Damn, now I want ferns in my room, this room could use some life.
