    Default Halloween!!

    Hey peoples,
It's late, I'm tired, but I just wanted to share the joy. Tonight's party was off the hook. A really special one for me as I never thought I'd see Sacramento straight freaking to house music - this town is a much more hip/hop/Top40 type of scene. Things felt right, low throbby tempos building up into some electro freak beats, then into some straight sweaty, funky house. The peoples were bouncing and screaming, singing along, track after track. I felt like I couldn't lose 'em if I tried. Seriously, after living in the Bay Area for so long, and moving out here, my faith has been renewed. Great party, killer set, happy people, smile on my face!
Long live the SE, Ableton and TPro!!

Who blew the roof off this Halloween? I wanna hear about it!!

I'm from the UK, where i thought Halloween was just another excuse to dress up on a night out. But i've just spent my Halloween '09 in Manhattan - where it's a whole different affair! It was mental! Not only the full on costumes worn by everyone for the whole day - but the bars were full of really funky beats. I haven't found much of a scene in NY over my time here, all seems either very Hip-Hop or really chilled funky downtempo stuff (maybe someone needs to escort me out...) but last night was really cool

Oh and dude, I've heard of Sacramento! The Ugly Truth (saw it on the plane over) is set there! Fraid I wudn't have heard of it otherwise though...

Grats dude, glad it went well. I wasn't spinning but I was raving, and I had thought my college campus is more top 40/hip hop-oriented but they went for it tonight; I'm really happy. Some of them still don't quite know how to rave though...these are now slow jams!

I ended up not getting payed for my gig, which resulted in me being in a rather pissy mood until I started playing at 12:15 and the place exploded. I started off with electro house remixes of top 40 stuff and the place went off, I was having a great time. But then somewhere along the way I ended up playing rap and kinda lost interest in actually mixing and settled for crossfading/spinback/delay out every three minutes and coming out from behind the booth and grinding in the meantime. The good mood continued until about three thirty when I was packing up and realized I had not only failed to get payed but in the meantime had forgotten to get layed... fml People had nothing but praise and raved about how it was the best halloween party they'd been to, but I thought it was just a mediocre night.

Man, that reminds me of soo many of my earlier gigs (even though the last one checked out after packing up most of the time - as for my Halloween this year lol)

Halloween was awesome. Played two sets, the first with a little halloween routine, and the second one really intense with big tracks trying to keep peoples interest up at 4.30 after Zegon. Line up for the night was me (with daniel peixoto making a guest apperance), killer on the dancefloor, Squeak e. clean, Zegon. I was in good mood when I stumbled home at 6 in the morning.
