Default Question about the Pioneer RMX-500/1000 Effects units

Pioneer Effects Units - Do they require actual hardware decks and a mixer or can one be hooked up to Traktor and used in conjunction with a controller?

I'm sick of Traktor's built-in effects and i'm looking for delays that are similar to the ones Adam Beyer uses in his Drumcode mixes, Which I believe come from the RMX-1000.

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies

I use it with Traktor on my master channel. Have for a long time now and it is awesome! Couldn't recommend it more.

It is a VERY aggressive unit however so you gotta learn to be gentle with it on the master chain.

Thanks man, appreciate the speedy reply! And with effects in general I think it's better to adopt the "less is more" policy. I really only use effects to add a little bit of character or tension to the breakdowns.

What is your setup like? It doesn't matter what sources you use, but it helps to have a good way to actually connect it.

Very true. The multiband effects on the RMX-1000 are just excellent for that and the delays are awesome.

S4 and macbook. I'm assuming this means i'd connect it via 1/4 cable to the master output?

i have an RMX500 and i love it. i use it on my send/return track on my mixer and i think that the combinations that the signal flow allow make it a pretty unique tool to use. the big knobs are fun to play with (LOL) and the layout is super simple to understand.

although the 1000 has a lot more depth than compared to the 500, the 500 is more playable after a few drinks.

i do wish i had the 1000 to use in the studio though.

I still have an EFX500 laying around somewhere (may sell it eventually).
As mentioned, just run it between the main outs and speakers. Although, I used to put mine on a send when I used a regular mixer.
May break that out for some nostalgia one night.

Ugh... I want an RMX-1000 so badly, but I don't have room for it.

    Or the money.
