    Default DMX lighting simulators /visualizers.

I'm looking for free or cheap software that can simulate a venue and DMX lighting. I'm looking to add MIDI control of lighting via DMX to a set, but I really don't want to have to purchase and set up a room full of lights.

Are there any solutions out there that works as a visual aid to simulate DMX lighting? It doesn't have to be A+ quality, but a general reference.

It's free to download and use. It has a 3D simulator that will get you what you need (if I read your original post correctly).

Boom and the legend that is Chilly is back. God love ya man.

Weirdly enough I was watching videos on ShowXpress yesterday as I'm expanding my mobile setup. Seems like a lot of the UK based mobile jocks are using it as it's easier and quicker to figure out than a hardware DMX controller.

What's up buddy. Gotta make a yearly appearance I guess

I've been using ShowXpress for the better part of a year now. I've added multiple DMX controllable lights, and also have scenes triggered from my APC40.

There is NO comparison in using a computer based program vs. a hardware DMX controller. The hardware controller is great for a very simple setup...but if you want true control a diversity, computer programs are the way to go.
