Unhappy Warp for remix or bootleg im desperate

    Hi All,

ill try to do my first bootleg- but im struggeling with the song I have choose for the bootleg.

The original Song is just a acustic guitar and singer. It has around 80BPMs.

What I want to do of this song is a deephouse edit with around 110-120 bpm.

So whats your recommended method to do such job.

I thought i create a 4/4 beat and warp the orig track so that it fit to the 4/4 beat. But now I spend 6 hours in warping and don’t come along with the beat and the vocal.

My inspiration for this is following song:

    https://soundcloud.com/jamesbaymusic/hear-your-heart-1

Which was great bootlegged by FlicFlac:

    https://soundcloud.com/flicflac/flic...-heart-bootleg

That would be my goal! An bootleg like this.

Did they have also just warp the orig track to fit on the beat or do you think they chopped all vocal parts and trigger the sliced samples to the beat?

Cause my orig Song I have choosed for vocal cant be warped by my own to fit on any dancefloor 4/4 groove 

Maybe anyone has tipps for me

Warp the original (accoustic) track at it's own BPM (80BPM). Set warp mode to either Complex Pro, or Tones.

Then, change the PROJECT Tempo to 110/120BPM.

You may want to take a look at my tutorial video on how to warp a song below. You'll have to add the extra step of finding "the 1" or the first beat of the original song.

#1 tip would be to warp the original song first at its original bpm, then change the bpm after that to where you want the bootleg to be.

thank you peedot- i will check it ! hope it helps

with a normal 4 to the floor track i dont have any problems but my track is an accustic song just guitar and vocal- no chance to find the 1 and also the guitar is drifting much ! I would love to see a warping video with an acustic track if you dont have any beat (the videos to warp an acapella isnt helpfull on youtube because the vocals are all persistant or they have the orig version :/ to find the one !

The "One" is still there even if there is not a drum beat on it.

best thing to do, is open up Youtube, find the original (with drums) and find teh "One" there. I'll give you a clue - it's where the singer sings the word "CHILLS" in teh track you sent!

Then, go into Ableton, and find that point in the track, set a warp marker there, and then "Set 1.1.1 here".

Then, with an accoustic track, you have to go through and manually warp the song to make it have a steady tempo.

Sit tight, and I'll send you the waroed track with a fixed intro and outro.
