I will be residing to California this January if that matters to you? I don't know if gears are cheaper in USA but I think there are plenty available to try. As for now, I can't find any DJ stores in my hometown, or even the whole state.
To be honest with you, those slight defects you mention such as weight, clamping, or size doesn't matter that MUCH to a beginner like me. As I said, I can't even tell the differences. As my first headphone, such little unnoticable problems aren't that disturbing unless it's too much like the size often fall off. Unless I have been using these for several years, such things won't really bother to be concerned about. The reason I posted this thread is to find the real "safe" gear rather than trying or experimenting myself. At least until 2-3 years with more experiences.
They are very actually BIG defects if are wearing something uncomfortable on your head for 3 or 4 hours at a time - and knowing you paid big money for them is just painful
Just that you mentioned that there is no-where you can test headphones in your country.I will be residing to California this January if that matters to you?
If you are going to be in Cali, I'd honestly hold off till you get there as you'll be able to get deals on amazon / best buy / guitar center etc ... and there are tons of places you can actually try before you order (cheaper) online.
If you need something right now, and as you said you cant tell the difference, buy a cheap pair of $20 sennheiser HD 201/202 and then buy a decent set of cans when you get to Cali, you'll save more $ than that by shopping around and you'll have something that feels right.
