Maybe he did earlier before the filming? Again, there's no sense of context of what had been happening the entire night. Perhaps security also was contacted. I don't know, nor does his apology say anything along those lines.

Just because he's issued an apology doesn't mean he's apologised.

    What a shit apology.

Yeah I'm all for Richie and defending the underground scene and all that but you don't use a monitor as a tool to get rid of unwanted fans lol.

There are some other stories coming out about that night.

Among other things, he played a trap song to a room full of boos.

My guess is that what actually happened was that he was off his face on some combination of drugs and booze and just lost his temper, either at her or the cameras or the lights...or just the crappy performance.

In short....drugs are bad. Or, at least, some people's reactions to them can be.

It's not an excuse, but....it's also not that uncommon. It's just not as widespread in the dance scene as it is in, say, the rock and metal scenes.

That is along the lines of what I was thinking, a straight mind wouldn't think that as acceptable but put some drugs into a person's system and acceptable to unacceptable may not be so clear.

I don't see Richie Hawtin as underground. That's my opinion, of course.

    I'm glad someone said it.

Hawtin is trouble when there are, substances, around.

True but the scene guys still like to defend him from what I've seen. But yeah, I agree with ya.
