davemex's Simplified S8 Setup

I've got the VCI 400 but with Vestax supposedly going out of business I'm looking into other setups for back up and long term reasons. Your S8 setup is mightily tempting me to go this route. Good stuff!

Hey man awesome minimal setup. howès that surface pro treating ya i was thinking of doing the same thing but they are pretty pricey for just a gigging PC. i mean if i was doing regular gigs maybe....

The Surface Pro 3 has been the perfect laptop replacement so far. I had to make a custom power mode to prevent throttling. Out of the box it tries to aggressively throttle to save power. After I set the CPU to stay on all the time it's been running absolutely smoothly. I love how absolutely small the Surface is for a full-fledged laptop. I do wish Traktor was more touch-screen friendly but that's where the S8 comes in. I think the Surface and the S8 make a good team due to me not needing the screen as strictly as I would have with another controller setup.
