Midi Fighter 3D not detected by Utility

Hi. So I just bought a Kontrol S2 MK2 and a Midi Fighter 3D. I have had no issues with the S2, but the utility software for the Midi Fighter 3D is not detecting my Midi Fighter. I read a forum that suggested clearing all Midi Devices from Audio MIDI Setup and re-adding them, but that didn't work. I have also tried multiple cables, but nothing is working. When I press all 4 corner buttons and plug it in, the 4 page shift button continually flashes and nothing happen. The utility won't stop telling me to "Plug in a (single) Midi Fighter" and "Midi Fighter not detected." its getting slightly irritating.

By the way, I have a Macbook Pro running OS Yosemite.

I have the same issue with the Mf3d just bought one last week and plugged it in and it isn't detected by the utility , I have also a twister and plugged that in and it is detected fine. I have raised a support ticket with DJTT so hopefully hear soon .

Idk if that link will work, but I'll try to find you the article again. Go to your utility, go to load custom firmware, for a 3D, and then upload the .hex file. Lemme know if it works!

Hey Guys! Me too! Got my midi fighter 3d in today. While it is glorious, it's not recognized by the midi fighter utility. I too have tried clearing the devices from my MIDI Devices from the audio MIDI Setup. Epic fail. I'm sure the new usb cord is good, the buttons are lighting up. The utility won't stop telling me to "Plug in a (single) Midi Fighter" and "Midi Fighter not detected." its getting slightly frustrating. UGH! The woes of being a DJ. Please halp! I wanna smash some freaking buttons on this awesome thing and hear music like you wouldn't believe. Although, neilmcm and hello123 might get me. Frustrated, but still stoked and can't wait to bask in all the glory that is the midi fighter 3d.

I have the same problem. The MF3D is working on Windows 7, but not on OS X Yosemite.
The rescue firmware has to be flashed twice in order to finish gracefully, but it doesn't help with the problem that the controller is not recognized on OS X.

Hey Guys,

This new article will do the trick Midi Fighter 3D not detected by MF Utility (OS X).

Thanks to this article my Midi Fighter 3D was FINALLY be detected by the MF Utility after weeks of experimenting, but I ran into a somewhat new problem. My firmware on my MF3D was very old. It had the 2012 firmware and every time I tried to update it through the MF Utility it would make it up to the "Flashing Device" portion and either freeze, give me an error, and/or down right shut off all keyboard and mouse functions on my Macbook Pro after failing. Which in turn would cause me to have to hard reboot my laptop. However after a bit of frustration, a bit of thinking, and determination I tried the following steps and I successfully updated my firmware for my MF3D to the 30 May 2013 firmware. (Note: I don't know if this will work on any other DJTT products and or if it'll work for anyone else's MF3D's):

1. Use the article above and successfully have your Midi Fighter detected

2. Click on "Update Firmware" in the upper-left corner of the Midi Fighter Utility

3. Once update is initiated it'll connect to the DJTT network and download the update file. Wait for this to finish.

4. Once the "Flashing Device" portion pops up, AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, unplug your MF3D and replug it to go into Bootloader Mode (Plug in the device while pressing the "Four Corners of the Arcade Grid") This can be a little tricky for those with small hands like myself, so this may take several tries to do correctly.

5. If Step 4 is done correctly, your device will enter Bootloader mode (4th bank button is selected and the top right arcade button's outer l.e.d. below will pulsate slowly) from there your device will flicker and flash like when it's initially plugged in and the the update should continue and finish successfully. Note: After the update finished, ALL keyboard and mouse functions ceased on my laptop as if the update failed after the MF utility clearly stated it finished successfully. So I simply rebooted my laptop, started the utility, then plugged my MF3d in and the new firmware was still there. So if this happens to anyone just do what i did and you should be fine.

6. Enjoy your fresh firmware.

Just to reiterate, I don't know if this will work for everyone as I haven't tried it on different OS's or updates. I have a 2009 13-inch MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.9.5 (Haven't bothered updating yet).

Hi I had the same issues I can get the mf3d to show in the utility now but it doesn't show up in traktor as a midi device any ideas anyone.
