I don't have an answer for you, but was wondering if you found a way to open it without damaging it?

You can remove the 3d's feet as they are glued on, and underneath them are the assembly screws. When done, re-glue the feet.

Thank you for the answer VanGogo,

The feet are just feet ?? ... feet are essential for the functioning of mF3D ???

    best regards

The 3D also has some motion control. The feet allow you to easily pick up the unit when you want to use the motion sensors.

One of the "notes" is set flat. so you activate that note by picking the unit up.
If you remove the feet, there may be a slight possibility that if may not register sitting down... but I doubt it.

Feet are just there to give your fingers enough clearance so you can pick it up. The "pick up" command doesn't interact with the feet.
