    Default Recording mixes (mobile devices)

    Hi there,

I was wondering if someone has some knowledge about recording mixes (straight from the record out) into the headphone plugs of the Iphone 5S? I'm looking for a simple app/tool who by which you can simple record a mix, and a cable to convert the mono sound in stereo recording (minijack to Tulp).

    Regards Koen

The output signal of the DJM is stereo, so that shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to use your phone to record in stereo, you need to get a line input adapter for the lightning connector on the bottom of the phone, not the headphone jack. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CS4L7DK/...ackoverfl08-20 Only problem is, these adapters are not cheap. You might as well get a stand alone portable digital recorder. You can probably find a used portable digital recorder for about the same price.

A new 13" MBP doesn't have a line in in it either. You will need a usb sound card for it. The 15" MBP have a line in, and the older 13" o, but not the newer ones.

As far as I know the MBP (mine is from 2011), the headphone output can also be used as a line in input. But before using it on the road, I will test this at home. According to this topic: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4794480?tstart=0, the 2011 MBP's were the last ones who had a dual function in/output.
