I'm 99% sure that's possible depending on your setup.
PlayStation controllers on a mac is pretty painless, I don't know about windows. I would think Xbox controller would work better on windows.
From experience, I know wired ps2 controllers work out of the box on Mac.
I believe Ps3 is the same but

Try to see if the controller pops up in Traktor if not you may need a program to act as a midi translator.
Bome's translator is a favorite of many people but I think puredata or max/msp are much more flexible as long as a steep learning curve doesn't scare you off.
Puredata is totally free but lacks documentation and GUI sparkle of max/msp.

Max/msp is a commercial product by cycling 74. They're very similar. Max/msp is approx $300 or $10/month subscription.
