i have traktor DJ and at one point yes it synced perfectly via dropbox and you could easily work tracks on the go, this feature became broken at one of the later iOS releases, and i honestly dont know if they ever fixed it. My entire collection is prepped , and i prep every new track as soon as i import it, so i ended up not going back to try it out. but at one point it was beautiful for traktor prep, can anyone confirm if they ever fixed the sync over dropbox feature?
i read a long while ago that powered ones are better in terms of performance as they are externally powered and wont suck the juice off your laptop, however this popped an interesting question in my head are there any hybrid HDD's that can be powered with a plug and still be used without one? that would solve the whole thing for me! as everything i have is organized in my current HDD and its an accumulated work of few years so it would be easier to do a one time transfer to a "hybrid" HDD (which will become my main on the go and on stage HDD) if they ever exist while keeping the other for backup at home.

i just checked the apple app store for traktor DJ and it seems like it does on a specific generation and operating systems as a minimum requirement which is as following:
Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
here is a link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/trak...625335999?mt=8
earlier today i read somewhere in the NI forums that they are apparently working on fixing it, but what can be confirmed from the app page is that the function is removed "Please note: The Metadata sync feature has been removed from TRAKTOR PRO 2. It’s still possible though, to sync metadata between two instances of TRAKTOR DJ."

so i think this basically tells us there isnt really much for mobile track prep for traktor...
What if the tracks were prepared using traktor dj then transferred back again to your pc using itunes and/or any other software?, wont it maintain the metadata in the file itself which then cab be read by traktor pro on your laptop?
if you still got the app it would be soo kind of you or anyone one out there that can try and tell us the results as i dont own any apple products but if this works i would definitely consider one!

let me see what i can do... give a day or 2
I got to borrow an iphone and try out traktor dj unfortunately, traktor dj does not save cue points in the track thus the meta data sync function (currently disabled) was introduced in both versions of the software pro and dj
However this is still good news for me as long as NI are working on fixing it!
