Then just keep dropping your mixes onto the timeline. The master channel will do all the work

Do you use the normalize button in Logic for example or are you putting on compressors on the master volume?

I usually do it after the fact. The sound system where I normally play prefers for me to output my signal a little on the quiet side, so the recording needs to be normalized. I usually do it in SoundForge.
