Default Best setup for duo djing with two laptops?

Here's the gear we already have my partner and I.

    Two mac book pro laptops
    Traktor s4 mk2
    Allen and heath xone 42
    1 kontrol x1
    traktor audio 10

Wath we did so far was using my partners s4 and laptop. I bought traks on beatport, put them in a usb key and downloaded them in his laptop befor the set.

Ultimatly, I would like us to work with our own laptop, sync them and prepare how set with our laptop using the gear we already have on hand

Have the s4 running on one computer, then map the second out to the x1 so it can cue/play, pause, auto sync and whatnot.

then run the outs from the x1 and s4 into the xone 42's inputs. Set up the 1 channel for the s4's sound to be at the peak constant level for the night, then set up the x1 channel\s. Depending on what you have it mapped as. Your buddy can stay on the s4 and mix with eqs while you stay on the zone triggering cues and stuff with the x1.

Ideally tho I would have another controller or turntable/cdj to have wired to the xone instead of the x1. Just personal prefrence for jogwheels over sync.

Tricky if you want to use sync from one PC to another but otherwise pretty much as AllDay says - s4 on one channel and the x1 on another 2.

If you want to use sync then there is an easy option if you are not going to change BPM at all: http://blog.dubspot.com/how-to-sync-...1-manual-sync/

Or a more complex option if you will be: http://www.native-instruments.com/en...two-computers/

^^^that is wrong. He already has all this great gear, no need to drop another 2k on a controller

You have a KILLER mixer, Do exactly what Allday said, he typoed though lol. He meant run the Audio 10 on the second computer the one running the X1. You can run 3 channels out of that one. Then use the remaining channel on the Xone for the S4.

You will effectively have 5 decks running, and enjoying all the maddness!!!

I would take the outs of the S4 and put them in an input of the xone 42, the x1 from the second laptop and a soundcard goes to the other inputs of the xone mixer problem solved. you can also use a live input deck to get the sound from one laptop to the other, thus allowing you to combine traktor's

Yea exactly, kinda left out where the audio card goes lol.

But yea overall sounds like a fun setup and should be really easy to set-up.
