Default RANE TTM57 not recognized (new macbook pro)

Hoping someone here can help (yes, I've searched the internet for about two days without a resolution!)
I'm familiar with music production, I've created mixes on Ableton, Logic and Reason however I've never actually worked on turntables

I make the mixes for all of the retail stores for the company I work for, they want me to DJ in some of the locations on various occasions so they gave me the following RANE TTM57SL (2) Pinoeer CDJ1000mk3 Brand new 2014 macbook pro

Here's where I'm running into a problem, everything is setup but Scratch Live does not recognize the TTM57.
Here's what I've done solely off reading things online and still have no fix.
    - Boot macbook into 32bit mode
    - Download an older version of SSL (2.0.0)
    - Tried different USB cords in various USB ports on the macbook.

Can anyone help me resolve my problem? I'm hoping someone here has had this issue before or has a resolution for it, I'm at a dead end

Based on that, you need a laptop with usb 2.0 ports. I'm guessing 2014 macbook pro only has usb 3.0 ports?

I would try to use a powered usb 2.0 hub to get around the usb 1.1/3 incompatibility issue. It that doesn't work or you experience audio issues, try the solution on the reddit.

I could be totally wrong here but aren't USB 3.0 ports compatable with sub 1.1 devices?
