Default SL-1200 MK2: Switches to 33 rpm every time start/stop button is pressed

Hi there all, like the title says, having an issue with one of my 1200s where every time I press Start/Stop, it switches to 33, meaning I have to switch to 45 again every time after starting it up.

I've tried googling around but couldn't find any mention of this issue. Unfortunately I bought the turntable like this last weekend and it wasn't something that I noticed when I was initially trying it out

    Any suggestions welcomed, thanks

It's most likely a loose connection I think. I'd try an open it up.

    That is weird...

But, do you really stop/start between records?

I am currently restoring a second pair of SL1200s and I had a similar issue.
I fixed it by re soldering the cables that go to the start stop✋ pcb.
Someone had also in the past badly soldered LEDs to the 33 45 speed switches. I resoldered these also.
    I now have no issues.
So yes I agree with the previous comment, open your turntable and check all your connections and see if they have been tampered with or are in good condition. You can buy plenty of good used spares on the Internet if your not happy fixing yourself with a soldering iron.
