Default Beginner needing some buying tips

    Hey Guys,

I got a Maschine and i'm now looking for a pair of studio monitors AND an audio interface (can be as little inputs as you want. Just to connect one input and some monitors) for under $500 NZD

    Any Ideas?

i have rokit 5s and the 10 inch sub also, and am happy enough, but one of the 5s does have a buzz when i first turn it on (after about 3 years).. it does go away after it warms up , but its annoying.

if i was starting all over i might go with these:

also theres a pretty great breakdown of monitors in general by mostapha in this thread here ..

Sorry, but umm the budget is $500 NZD

    Erm. Maybe not.... Haha
    Also, are mackie cr3s decent?.
Also, it is viable to use monitors without an interface or is that a stress on my audio card?

i think that 500 NZD would cover those monitors... they are in the same price range as the rokits...

are you running just the maschine and the maschine software?

what are the specs of your compter?

You can get a pair of Mackie MR5MK3 and a Focusrite 2i2 (or 2i4 or 6i6, whatever you want) for well under 500 USD. I don't know what prices are like there.
