I use krk 5 rokits and a krk 10 sub i love the rig! As for souncard i use ni komplete audio 6 very flexible for djing or production also have a ni komplete audio 6 and presonus audio box for sale in the buy sell!
i have rokit 5s and the 10 inch sub also, and am happy enough, but one of the 5s does have a buzz when i first turn it on (after about 3 years).. it does go away after it warms up , but its annoying.
if i was starting all over i might go with these:

also theres a pretty great breakdown of monitors in general by mostapha in this thread here ..

Sorry, but umm the budget is $500 NZD
Erm. Maybe not.... Haha
Also, are mackie cr3s decent?.
Also, it is viable to use monitors without an interface or is that a stress on my audio card?
i think that 500 NZD would cover those monitors... they are in the same price range as the rokits...
are you running just the maschine and the maschine software?
what are the specs of your compter?
You can get a pair of Mackie MR5MK3 and a Focusrite 2i2 (or 2i4 or 6i6, whatever you want) for well under 500 USD. I don't know what prices are like there.
Bedroom DJ | Pioneer DJM-800 | Pioneer CDJ2000 and CDJ900-NXS | 2 x Mackie MR8MKII | Sennheiser Amperior
Also, Anyone got an idea about what the Traktor s4 soundcard is like for use as the hub of a dj setup???
