    Default if I buy a vci400 now...

How long until compatibility becomes an issue?
Is it a terrible idea? I really like this controller.
I'm on osx mountain lion and using traktor 2.6.
Any advice or thoughts would help a lot. Thanks.

Hey good question I'm wondering the same thing with the new 2.8 update. Haven't had any issues since upgrading to 2.7 and up. But have not tried my Vci400 e.g with the 2.8 update. You should be alright updating to do 2.7.3 depending on your set up. Aka Computer specs. I'll be testing 248 with my VCI 400 in the next hour so. I will keep you posted .

Awesome. I just picked up my vci400 (risky, I know) and I love it so much. I think it will be fine with future updates but let me know!

May I add I went from a Traktor s4 to a vci400eg. There's good and bad to both I like some of the features of the BCI that can easily be mapped to the S4. There's good and bad to both I like some of the features of the BCI that can easily be mapped to the S4. And of course S4 can't be beat as far as plug-and-play compatibility. But, anyway... On to the Verdict! Lol

I have a Mid- 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inch with a 8gb of RAM, 250 GB SSD running Mavericks 10.9.5, Traktor 2.8 and vci400eg with 2.0 firmware and flash flooders 2.5.1 mapping.. CHECK! All is good in my Traktor hood! Lol but, seriously.... You should be alright. keyboard "should" be. Just saying there's always a chance something may not be compatible on your laptop. (never mentioned year or model macbook) only thing I can think of that may cause an issue is faulty USB ports. But if you're currently running an S4 or any other midi controller without issue and youre Up to spec/the VCI is in good working condition... rock on!!!

VCI-4000SE Running just fine on 2.9 along both Windows 10 and OS X 10.11 PB3. I don't think we'll see any audio compatibility issues on the Mac side any time soon since it's a Core Audio interface, meaning it doesn't need any drivers. Mappings might become partially broken with a Traktor updates but 2.9 didn't change anything major on the mapping side to break it.
