    Default Vinyl Ripping

    how would i go about ripping my vinyl collection onto my mac/pc? I only have 1210's i take it a usb digital tt would be needed along with some form of software, can anyone recommend me some decent stuff that i could use?

    Actually the rip can be done with a soundcard like a FireBox or any soundcard with rca inputs. Ive done vynil rips on my hercules. You can use a program like audacity to perform the rip, just record the vnyil and then edit the track for deadspace and whoila rip performed.

    Ok I have an M audio fastrack pro and I have audcacity as i got it free, could i plug my 1210 into the soundcard and then into the mac and do it like that into audacity?

    if it's that easy then i need to get started only got 2500 records to do

    yup its that easy, just select your fasttrack as the input in audacity and have at it!

    Blimey wish i had known that previously as I would have started the rippage already ah well time to get the 1210's out of storage with a selection of ye olde vinyl!

    don't forget that you need a PHONO IN to plug directly your TT to your soundcard...
    If your soundcard don't have it, you'll need something like the Berhinger pp400
    to get a line signal from your TT

    Or you can run it through your mixer first, and run the mixer into the soundcard. That way you could also do a little EQ work
