Because it's not my station, I'm being told what to use by the owners, and it seems I must abide by what's being said! I have purchased the Behrigner UCA202 and according to the guy who I purchased it from (the shop) this should do exactly the trick.

I will report back what happens.

That interface is great for the money - but, really, you could get by with one of these:

    Figured out the problem...I think.

The combi microphone/headphone jack on my HP laptop only works as a microphone when a 4-connector audio jack is put in. So what I need is a Male 2 RCA to 3 ring/TRRS male 3.5mm jack.

    (If they even exist)

I think even a 3 ring adapter would work.

That's weird. Most laptops will auto detect and choose line in when there's a 3.5mm TRS plugged in. A mic 3.5 mm is a TS mono connector. You're referring to a headset 3.5mm which is a TRS with an extra ring for the mic signal.

    Update:

JUst found a 3 pin RCA (Red White Yellow) to TRRS 3.5mm jack and tried that.

I plugged the red and white RCA into my Traktor S2 and the TRRS 3.5mm jack into my mic input on the laptop. Although the mic input recognised it, BUTT's lights still didn't pick anything up and therefore did not flash.

So while I think I still need a TRRS, now I'm not as sure as I was.

That app is probably designed for vocal audio only. It will only pick up the mic signal. And that's always mono.

We use BUTT at Dice Radio. I route through my audio 6 with no issues.

Jester - why not take a screenshot and show this guy how to select what to input into his BUTT?
