Default Missing Channel during live gig using Traktor

My set up at the moment is a Kontrol Z2 with a pair of 1210's.

I was using this in a live gig the other day and intermittently I would get a mesage on screen saying "Right Channel Missing" or "Left Channel Missing".

I have seen this before when using my Audio 6 box to connect to Traktor but didnt expect to see this with the Z2.

I dont do anything and the track continues to play and soon after disappears.

has anyone seen this and could it be due to the quality of the mp3 that I am playing

    cheers Bart

Might be time for some new needles.

Some at home turntable maintenance might help in the short term. Plenty of vids on youtube.

needles are both new plus i have upgraded the phono connectors from the standard ones you get with the decks
whats odd is that after the 1 song and me not doing anything the message goes away which leads me to think its poor mp3 quality?

I had an intermittant issue where the error message was either channel missing or the deck calibration scope would be a horizontal or vertical line instead of the slightly fuzzy circle it's supposed to be. Turns out one of the tonearms was knackered.

    ah right ok
how often would you get this?
and was this on a 1210/1200?

silly question but what or how can the tonearm affect this?

It was on a 1200, I had had sent the decks for a service after one of them collected a pint of beer although the problem had been apparent before the beer incident. The email I got back said that the tonearm housing was sat wrong and this was what had been causing the channel missing/calibration issue.
In your case the only other thing I can think of is the cartridge contacts inside the tonearm need cleaning.
