Default Mapping a shift button in SeratoDJ

Does anyone know how to do this? I've been browsing around for quite some time and could only found a workaround (Red Hammer) that apparently it no longer works with SDJ.

Planning to map the 3D and Twister to it but not being able to map a simple shift layer is quite limiting.

You need Bomes Midi Translator, mate.

You can easily add your own modifiers that will work in ANY midi capable software.
    DJ'ing: 2x1200MK2, DJM 850, Dicers, F1, Zomo MC-1000, Sony MDR-v700, i7 Win 10 HP Envy
Production: Ableton Live 8 and a mouse, Sennheiser HD400, Sony VAIO

I know, just want to find a way to skip the middle man so people don't need to shell out for extra software (Bome's Classic is PC only)

I hear ya. I'm surprised more audio software doesn't include the type of functionality that 3rd party software offers.

For Mac (for free), there used to be:

    ControlAid

Pretty sure it does the same thing as Bomes MT. But, again, it means running it alongside Serato. I'm not sure how it behanves re: resources, though. I imagine it's quite light. Gotta be worth a go if there are no native solutions?

Thanks for that. I'll give it a spin while I wait for the folks at Serato to see if they have any insight on this.

Many Serato controllers seems to have Deck and Shift buttons hard coded in to the firmware (via Midi channel assignments) that's the reason behind some missing mapping features within Serato.

    Matias,

The side buttons on Twister can be configured as Shft Hold and Shift Toggle layer. Perhaps we should join forces and build a mapping for Twister at least
