To Kontrol Z2 or not to...

Have been wanting the Z2 for a while now. But with the permanent price slash, it has me thinking I should wait to see what is on the horizon, see if the next best thing is about to drop. Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone else thinking about holding out for a new mixer?

I bought one in the recent sale... I'm more then happy with it, the only thing i don't understand is how i can get some kind of sticker lock working on it.

Patch: that is a more than valid point. Short answer -- no. There isn't. I'm just trying to take any chance of future buyer's remorse and nip it in the bud IF a potential mixer comes out and happens to have the most mind blowing feature. Stupid? Yes. Do I realize this? Also a yes.

Jay: No worries. I don't know how to do it in Traktor either to be honest.

I don't know about sticker lock in Traktor. To my knowledge, it doesn't exist.

But I like it, and hope Traktor DOE have it soon!

The work around, is to stop the record where you want the marker to be (with your hand) and THEN hit the Hot Cue button. For scratches/juggles, I always have my marker at the 12 '0' clock position. So, I stop it there with my hand, and THEN hit the hot cue button...

I wouldn't worry too much about a new one round the corner or anything. There's always something shinier on the horizon and if we waited, we'd never buy anything!

Thx for the info and indeed... just get the Z2... It's an amazing mixer and actually a pretty cheap way to get traktor scratch pro.

Went to my local guitar center to look at the Z2 - i was looking at purchasing it. However, they checked the inventory and all surrounding Guitar Centers in Chicago had their inventory of kontrol Z2s recalled and transported out. Wonder if that means anything.

Would be interested in hearing about that... Was going to get a Z2 as a backup and for times I need a mixer with scratch certification and a cross fader (use a Rane 2015 regularly)
