The one by Odyssey, whatever it's called would be best. The uberstand would work too (PM me if you want to buy one).

I have to be honest though, The APC 40 is big and would probably be unstable on one. I have to tape my laptop to it with gaffer's tape so it doesn't fall backwards even with the velcro and it is a standard 14". It's best suited for 13" and smaller laptops. The odyssey stand is more rugged and multi purpose.

I use velcro to keep my laptop in place, and I have a beast of a 17"er. It has never budged on me once.

The APC40 doesn't have a monitor, so theoretically it will be more balanced, and with a little double sided tape, or the velcro, which I'm a HUGE fan of, it should be relatively stable, I'd think.

I haven't used the Odyssey stand, but it's been on my radar for a while.

it looks very stable, but based on the review its not as portable as the others.

I use the Odyssey, but the one I got didnt have the shelf. Its not really deep enough for my 17 inch monstrosity of a laptop but it is workable. I really need to attach velcro and it would probably be spot on. Considering I got mine in a kit with a huge laptop shoulder bag for right around $100, it was well worth it.

Wow how does your 17" not tip over? I use velcro along the back but I need it secured in the front or it flips back. I have a zip tie on each end of the front that I fold over my laptop and use a little gaffer's tape to secure it in place. It works solidly but a little bit of a pain.
