Default techniques, solutions & ideas for effects, buildups, breakdowns, drum rolls. etc ?

    anyone perform live with live?
    struggling on getting effects right.
I'm referring to elements on individual tracks and in drum racks.
    I know how to use.
just wondering if anyone has any tips for using and some things you could do (that i have not thought of.

I'm adding stuff to a regular DJ set. extra elements.
how would you create some of these effects:
drum rolls (got the arpeggiator working for it, but it needs a trigger for it) and adding Echo or some delay on the build up.
not looking for pre recorded clips, but a way me generating on the fly, and controlling the effect realtime. if I bring it in too late, I can still get the effect to climax at the point needed. (beginning or end of a breakdown for example)
I play Trance, and nobody plays live with extra
    things added.
I think some of what the Techno people do would be useful to know how they put thing together.

Drum Rolls = Beat Repeat. <You're gonna have LOTS of fun with Beat Repeat.

You can also try ading a Simple Delay, Reverb, Ping Pong Delay, Filter Delay...

Learn about Racks. And learn about the Chain Selector. FX racks are mental - and mapping parameters to teh 8 knobs n a rack can give you LOTS to play with.

Also - think about using effects on your Sends. Espsecially anything with a tail.

I already use racks and chain selector etc.

after more of the detail of what people use that works, rather than how to use ableton live.

+1 Beat repeat is a TON of fun....just remember to use it sparingly.

The Sweep Drama Effect from Priscilla remains a go-to Fx for me.

The Echo Freeze effect is another workhorse for me.

The Beat Masher is another that I use sparingly, but it is a good "get out of heck free" Fx. I tend to use this to great minor breakdowns in more repetative tracks....but combined with the Echo Freeze it is a nice way to dump a track in short order and jump to the next track.

Izotope's stutter edit is really easy to use.
