    Default Upping my clap game

So i think ive got the theory of kick drums down, my hats and rides sound good but i seem to be stuggling with claps. I have tried varoius techniques in a vain attempt to get this kind of sound

I love the way D-Unity gets this pumping rythym throughout his tracks and alot of his claps are really short and punchy. I have tried using clip fades, evelopes, Transient shapers and various layering and processing techniques but im starting to think im missing something simple, anyone have any pointers to get claps short and snappy?

It all comes down to sample selection

Sounds like a clap that would come in a techno/dub kit

Agreed. Think that's a snare. You can always gate your clap, then throw it through a compressor compressing the hell out of it, or even a limiter to really blast it.

Yeah I agree - sounds like more of a snare, with maybe a LP filter cutting off the highs a little
