Default 256GB USB Flash or SD card for MacBook Air?

I have a macbook air with 128GB storage.
I really need some more space.
I use NI Traktor Pro 2.
What is better, what will be read faster and will make me no problems?
    USB flash or SD card?

    Thanks In Advance!

USB 3.0 drive is faster, if you can afford it the Samsung T1 would be a really good option.

Look no further than the Transcend JetDrive Lite

I've just purchased a 128GB version for my Macbook Pro.

It sits flush in it's slot so there is nothing sticking out, therefore no need to remove it ever.

SSD on USB3 is obviously faster.

With a max read speed of 60MB/s that is really too slow for anything other than media storage

SD card would be my first choice cause of convenience.
My only concern is if there are going to be any audio drops when traktor analyze tracks
and also the speed of analyzing tracks

Yhea if you really want an SD card i would certainly go for something like the NiftyDrive and the fastest SD card you can afford, the macbook's built in SD reader does not support USB 3.0 speeds though.

If you have someone that can take the thing apart....the Samsung 950 series SSD is pretty much what you're looking for I think :P
    Current - 4x CMD PL-1, 1x CMD MM-1, Focusrite Saffire 6, V-Moda M100s, HD25-1-II's, Traktor 2
Past - Numark Mixtrack, NS6, NV, Serato DJ up to v1.8.1

This is a little expensive, it will cost me more than an ssd without the case.
Maybe DJDoubleYou is right. An external USB 3.0/SSD like Samsung T1 is the best choice.

I know NOTHING about SD cards - but 60MB per second read speed sounds like enough to load a typical .mp3 track into Traktor in less than a second?

I'm probably wrong - can anyone confirm? Because I've been considering using SD storage for a while...

More than enough actually, nowadays there are cards that provide speeds of more than 250MB/s which can load an MP3 in about 1/25'th of a second theoretically.
