Default Room preparation for music production

Noob question, but Is there any good articles about the fundamentals of the room preparation for music production - how, where and which to use sound-absorbing materials, where to place the workplace, monitors, etc.? The room is 6x3,5 ,the speakers are KRK VXT6.

    6' X 3.5'? That is a tiny room.

Every room and monitor placement will be slightly different. Also depends on furniture, equipment setup, and desk space.

    What is your budget>??

Budget...I don't plan significant investments into it since I'm a beginner, but interesting in the whole picture and price ranges.
Thnx for GIK Acoustics and Realtraps

you're going to need a lot of treatment, and your room might be too small for lower frequencies to become heard.

or you can take the money you would have spent on proper treatment and spend it towards a subpac and some nice open back headphones like the sennheiser hd-600.

you're really going to need a space that is larger than a closet to get accurate monitoring for a full range of sound waves.
