Default Integrating Maschine into your setup

    Hey all,

I've got Maschine working great with Traktor Pro 2, so my question is more about the saved template within the DAW:

I initially had it set up with two groups, one with 808 sounds and the other with 909s, just to keep it simple, and it works really well with the music I play (Techno, Tech House, Progressive House etc). I loaded delay and reverb effects on each sample, and added a compressor and limiter to the master. Unfortunately, This sent the CPU usage through the roof, which I think is because there's no way to toggle effects on/off. I've removed effects from various samples, which has helped. I was wondering how others might have their Maschine DJ templates set up? Any tips for what you've got loaded? I'm still very much in the learning phase here, so little things to grow into would be great.

EDIT: In fact, would setting up something like this be useful to use Maschine's sequencer with Ableton's effects processing?

You could try setting up a few send/return busses and use that rather than having each sound host their own effects. Not entirely the same but it will save you tons of CPU. =)

BTW, you can turn effects on/off with Maschine, you can either click on the FX icon on the UI or press shift and select the module from the hardware with the sound/group in focus.

Oh, thanks! I searched for something like that on google and everyone just said you couldn't or that you had to do a hack where you automate W/D to turn it off.
