Default Open Source Traktor Competitor ?

Of course Traktor is a great software for digital djing, but it has one major problem : its closed source.
Everytime you think "hmm, would be great to have a better tsi editor" or "would be great to customize the UI", your next thought will be "hope they implement it in the next version".
Wouldn't it be great to have an open source competitor for traktor that allows you to fully customize the UI, integrate 3rd Party Software directly into the DJ Software, basic VJ features and stuff ? This would be a little bit like when the internet explorer has been market leader and then firefox came out and became more and more popular. In the following, the internet explorer became better and better.competition is allways good imho !!!

There is, it's called Xwax. Mot really a competitor but it's a cool light open source DVS. http://www.xwax.co.uk/ It's meant for linux but I think they have a windows version now, it's a DVS through so not like Traktor Pro or any internal programs.

Nice to see open source projects out there. I'm also a software developer and would be great to work with DJ and development together. I wish I had time to do that, but I have to pay my bills

@Empolo : Mixxx looks very nice, I'll try it. Would be interesting to see something thats not a traktor clone but something with some interesting innovative concepts.

I have to give Mixx a try on a netbook. Seems like a fun second setup.
