    Default USB Hub recommendation

    Hey Dj Tech Tools,
Not long time ago, I watched your video on YouTube about USB hubs and I was wondering if you can suggest which USB hub to buy. At the moment, I am working on Native Instruments Audio 2 sound card, Vestax VCI100 mk2, Traktor F1 and Traktor X1 mk1. Of course I am not using the sound card from Vestax. So I ask you, which USB hub to use, with how many USB ports and where to connect each of piece of equipment I mentioned above.
PS. I use macbook pro that has only two USB ports

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Just get a powered usb hub. I have a bought a simple pluggable brand hub. the important part is that it is MTT so multiple transaction translator (means if you connect a usb 1.1 on a usb 2.0 port it wont limit the whole usb hub to usb 1.1 speed. Hopefully most of the usb hubs nowdays are MTT ... Pluggable make nice powered ones for not a lot of money. I've got one of these : http://plugable.com/products/usb2-hub-ag7 if i had to buy another one i would probably get this one : http://plugable.com/products/usb3-hub7bc

btw I always connect my audio interface to the ''better usb port'' and the rest thru the usb hub to the other one. You can read that for more infos :http://djtechtools.com/2010/07/14/ma...rt-inequality/

D-Link DUB-H7, I've got 3 of them (gig bag, spare in the car and extra spare at home).

I'm told it's what NI use for internal testing ... Which these days probably isn't a massive positive but if it works for them then I've got a decent chance of my NI gear working in the wild
    Main Gig Comp - MacBook Air 11" 1.3GHz i5, 4GB, 512GB, OS X 10.12.6
    Gig Gear - TSP 2.6.8 & 2.11.2, Kontrol X1mk2 (x2), D2 (x2), S5, Xone:92, Xone:PX5, CDJ-2000 (x2), DDJ-XP1 ... Rekordbox DJ 5 with a few packs ...
Plenty of studio gear and not enough time ... and a few Nexo PA systems

    Same here.

Put your Audio 2 direct into a USB socket on the macbook then everything else into the hub.

    That's USB2, right?

I wonder if they use it because they know that it is a good one, or because they think it's generic enough that it will cover most of the bases?

Either way, I think I'll grab one. It can't be worse than the generic Chinese one I bought off ebay!

    HOW MUCH?!?

Looks like they've pinched some Novation Dicer styling there, too...

Also had my eye on one of these for a while:

But, again, HOW MUCH? £40 for a hub seems a little excessive to me. But I'm tight.
