    Default Scarlett 2i4 Alternatives...

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 which i use for mixing.
    but i have many problems.
First of all i don't like the Sound Quality. It is much worse than my Pioneer CDJ-350.
The line output`s volume also is much lower.
I also have many audio drops and distortion after a couple of hours.
I have to restart Traktor to listen normal sound back again.
    Are there any better alternatives?
I want a usb audio card with 2 x RCA audio outputs.
I will connect it with my Macbook Air and Traktor X1.
    Thanks in Advance!

Hmm, I wonder if you have a dud. The Scarlett sound interfaces are pretty solid. The only other comparable sound interface would be Traktor's IMO.

I have one as a back up for my studio... its pretty sh!tty, and that is why its a backup. I used it for like 2 months and it just never worked right. After like a few hours it would get completely distorted, very bad. After speaking with Focusrite for weeks on the issue, they concluded its just an issue. I had 3 replacements sent. I was on a fairly new MBP and all my software was legit.

On Windows the only issue I have is following a "Sleep" or "Hibernate" - I need to disconnect & reconnect the USB cable doing tot he sound card. I have never found a different solution.

Beyond that, I have "DJed" may times with background music for almost 15 straight hours without a hiccup. I have never had an issue with the 2i4 at a gig.

In my experience the 2i4 sounds pretty damn good, much better than the sound cards in comparably priced DJ controllers. There isn't anything better around the price of the Scarletts. If you can afford it and really care about quality, the Apogee Duet or RME Babyface Pro are the way to go, but they're far more expensive.
