Default Kontrol S5, Rubbish mic level when routed to Live input deck.

    Evening all!

    I've just got a Kontrol S5 today.

First reaction on unboxing... it looks like a Novation twitch on steroids!

Mixing wise, everything's fine, but i have got an issue with how the mic is routed. I know you can hit the aux button & send it straight to the output, but i want to send it to a live input on a Traktor deck for EQ etc. ....problem is, i'm not getting sufficient level.

Anybody got any input on this?
    Cheers

Not sure if it applies to the overall mic gain or the AUX output but if you hold down AUX you can use the touch strip to adjust the volume of each external source.

I'm guessing you already tried rising the Gain for the deck you are routing the mic into.

Also actually for serious this time, do you have a condenser mic or a dynamic mic?

    Yep. done that.
That's how the manual suggests you use a mic or aux source (bypassing the up faders, & send the aux sources direct to the output), & when used this way, you can get a healthy level from the mic.

The problem with that though is you don't get any EQ, hence wanting to route it via a traktor deck.

Gain on full still only lights 2 or 3 of the leds on the channel meter. Also, @overcast ....3 different mic's, all dynamic. 2 different mic leads, one TRS balanced, & one cheap moulded plug unbalanced.
