Default Is it okay to leave on Midifighter LEDs 24/7?

    Hi,

Anyone know what the lifespan is of the LEDs on the Midifighter Twister and 3D? I have an LED lightbulb in my home with a 27 year lifespan. I like leaving the Midifighters plugged in to the USB hub, so I don't have to re-plug them in every time I sit down to produce (first world problems, I know). Plus, the look of the lights is cool if I duck my head into the room at night.

Thoughts on leaving Midifighters on 24/7?

Make sure you have the rainbow animation enabled so it cycles through the different colors. That way there is no particular LED getting extra stress.

Thank you so much! Not near my laptop now. Is rainbow animation available on the Twister?

It does not appear that the MF Twister has the rainbow "screen saver" mode, at least in the 13 Aug 2014 firmware. Good idea to leave unplugged then?

Yup, no such option on Twister.

Edit: There are some USB hubs with integrated power switches per port. You might one to look into one of these.

It actually worked itself out. I had to replace my audio interface, so I picked up the Novation Audiohub. When the computer turns off, so do the three USB ports on the Audiohub.
