Brexit?

I see that many people from this forum is from the UK, so I would like to know why is Brexit good or bad, explained by someone from the UK.

The truth is nobody knows, no country has ever left the EU before... we're venturing into the unknown, initial outlook appears to be a bad thing, the currency has dropped off, it's now more expensive to exchange currency. the leave campaign won't be able to deliver on their promises.. they used 350million in savings to try and drum up support but this money will all go to plugging the holes left by leaving the EU (for example, to cover farming subsidies).

I remain optimistic though, we're a strong currency with lots to export and import, outsiders will want to do business here when things calm down and stabilise, the world is our oyster, we can negotiate our own deals and it looks like countries like canada, auz, new zealand all want to do business with us, potentially visa free travel (if the media isn't telling lies that is)

I don't believe that a country is unable to survive out of the EU, there are countries that do it just fine, we might have some rough times ahead and lots of adjustments to make but it can be done with the right leadership.

I work in finance here in the states, and what its been pretty crazy. People expected this type of down turn would happen soon, but not because of Brexit. in that case, a lot of British and EU equities and bonds with international currency (FOREX) exposure got kicked in the face.

It's interesting because nothing has actually changed in the UK, as the referendum isn't legally binding and no actual deals or concessions have even been proposed, let alone enacted. While most economists agree that this will negatively impact GDP and growth within the UK, i hold a minority opposing position that article 50 could be a place of strength for the UK because having full control of their central bank will help guide the UK into more specialization and greater efficiency. this was not something that the UK has while in the EU, as the ECB and Brussels had to focus their monetary policy on controlling prices, rather than using inflation as a means of stimulating growth.

It's pretty f'n exciting (not that i like watching countries crash and burn, but more or less how this all plays out).
