My setup:
Software: Traktor , Fl Studio all plugins and VSTs on image line site , Komplete
Mixed In Key , Platinum Notes
Hardware:
Audiobox interface ( I don't use the program that came with it) mostly used for recording vocals via condenser mic
Traktor z1 mixer (recently destroyed my Pioneer Mixer so working with this till I buy a new one) btw 2 channels suck
2 x Traktor f1
Traktor x1 mk 2
2 x Audio Technica AT-LP1240 decks
Akai MPD 218
Novation Launchpad s
Novation Launchkey mini
Traktor Scratch A6 (actual audio interface, the Audiobox is situational)
Almost everything I use one way for performances ( omitting the launchkey, audiobox, and Z1 until recently) and then have a second set for production on Fruity where I have custom setups on my control surfaces to increase workflow and efficiency.
My studio is a 12x16 ft concrete room (floor , walls and ceiling) I have put a plexiglass cover on all the walls with silicone affixing 3 in acoustic foam on the outside. Only the floor doesn't have it, and that has an thick anechoic soundproofed pad underneath the carpet. ( I used to work installing club audio systems for 8 years so I know what I'm doing there)
One corner is an entirely soundproofed vocal-instrument recording room ( I make cash by doing vocal and instrumental recordings for students and professors at the nearby college) In there I have 3 Audio-Technica AT2035
large diaphragm Condenser Microphones and a plethora of shields.
Speakers:
4 x Mackie THUMP Series 12-Inch 1000w on stands with isolation pads
2 x Mackie THUMP18S 1200-Watt 18-Inch subwoofer on stand
My entire setup is run by a super overpowered PC that I built recently to replace the old.
PC:
AMD 9750 FX CPU ( overclocked to 5.4 w liquid cooling ) so 8x 5.4 ghz cpu
Asus ROG Crosshair Formula 4 mobo
Hyperx Fury Rampage DDR3 Ram 4x16gb at 2400mhz
Ati Radeon r9 Fury Liquid cooled graphics card x 2 ( 4 gb GDDR5 with 1024 bit width) yes it does makes those Nvidia titans look like amateurs
Samsung Pro EVO SSD x 4
drive c: 350 gb for OS and system applications
drive g: 1 tb for sample storage and DAWs
The other two drives function as fallbacks in case the others fail. Gotta Love RAID setups
This is a work in progress I just started working outside the party, vocal recordings side of things, so still formulating it into exactly what I want.
Any suggestions to streamling workflow would be greatly appreciated.
