    Default Kontrol s5 question

I have a Kontrol s5 with Traktor which is a lovely piece of kit however I wonder if perhaps I bought the wrong one and should have stuck with the s4. I'm not too sure about the touchstrips and actually wish they were jogwheels.
Would it be possible to use one cdj to control any deck I wanted to manually beatmatch? Or do I need two?
i.e. could I switch the cdj between deck A and deck B intermittently?
Or- should I persist with the touchstrips?!
Using sync is fine but on occasion I like to manually beatmatch.
    Thanks

You can use a single CDJ via HID or DVS to control both decks =)

Thanks. Would I need to change to Traktor Scratch for that?
Do you have experience of using a cdj with the Kontrol?
    Thanks

If you are going DVS you need another audio interface so stick to HID and then simply change the deck in focus.

It's perfectly possible to manually beatmatch using the S5. The touchstrip is essentially the side of a platter. You can change the BPM with different increments which makes it faster than using a tempo fader. It's really not all that different.
