Default Thoughts on Gemini XL 500II

So I'm looking into switching to vinyl djing and a friend suggested the Gemini XL 500IIs would be good beginner turntables. Just wanted to get more opinions on them. Pros? Cons?

I used to sell gemini decks back in the late 90's and as Chris said though they are both outdated and old tech ...for Gemini gear thats not good as its really not designed to last and the body did feel like a fisher price toy.

In fairness though they were really the first-to-market "giggable" high-torque Technics knockoffs and at 1/3 the price of Techs back then we sold hundreds and had a very low return rate. I even had a pair for a while at home.

In your shoes though I'd search local adverts and ebay for used Vestax's or Technics - there is always bargains to be had if you are willing to wait for one.
