Earplugs with minimal reduction (-5db or thereabouts)

Looking for something reusable along the lines of eargasm's or something, as small as possible without having to go down the custom route if possible. I haven't been able to find anything that reduces by so little (most are at minimum -12db reduction which is just too much).

I just want to take the edge off ambient noise due to some major headaches occurring recently in crowded restaurants, when my cats meow too loud, and even when people talk too loudly in the car. Loud music isn't an issue its more "crowd noise" problems.

I know, most Dj's have the opposite problem hehe, but at times it feels like my ears sensitivity turned up to 11. Yes it might be the onset of a condition such as Misophonia.

Any thoughts ?

I feel like any kind of plug you put in your ear is going to reduce by more than 5 dB unless it's like paper.
