    because I'm a cranky old man who refuses to learn new tricks. honestly I think I have a mental block, whenever I try to cut without the fader switched I sound like a garbage soufflé boiling on hot asphalt.

    Just swap the cables around, or take out the x-fader and turn it around.

    I did that starting out with a radio shack mixer! switched channel 1 for 2. I figured since I'm in the market for a new mixer anyway, might as well get one with the features I really want. That said my interest in the Mixars UNO is growing/
