    Default Broken Amplifier?

Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place but I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice.

I recently bought some Pioneer DM40 which I believe have a built in amplifier. I plugged them into an old Numark DM1002X mixer I have and they worked briefly but I turned the volume up far too quickly and the LED lights reached all the way to the top of the red section.
Now when I connect the mixer to the speakers, the powered speaker doesn't give off any sound and the slave speaker gives off distorted, un-amplified sound.
Have I broken the amplifier by turning the volume up too far? Or is it a problem with the mixer/other hardware? They work fine with input from a phone etc just not when connected to that mixer.

    Thanks in advance

Do you use a different connector for the phone and the mixer?

If you can get audio from another source using the same cables and connectors, it's the mixer that isn't working. Try the mixer with a different set of speakers (like hifi or PA).
