    Default IPAD djing logistics

What is the state of the art for using iPods for djing? Is there a way to connect arbitrary USB or firewire audio interfaces to ipod?

I want to use "Traktor DJ" or something like it to play music off my iPod. But iPod only has one stereo output. I need two for djing.

Also, is there any way to connect external drive with music library to iPod?

    thank.

    Default thanks but...

...I"m more interested in discussion about hardware and connectability. What do you, guys, use to make ipod play through 2 stereo outputs? Do you use the lighting-usb "camera" adapter? How is it treating you? Etc.

Im also interested in this topic.
From the research I have done (watching videos, reading forum posts) I believe the Native Instruments Audio 2 Mk2 soundcard would work to precue out of an iPhone.
I haven't tried it myself but I think you would hook up the sound card to an iPhone via a Camera Connection Kit.
Then you could precue and get stereo sound out.

However, youre using an iPod so I'm not sure if that would work too. I assume if you have the same iOS it should work.

My findings agree with yours. I haven't tried it yet. I have, however, tried the splitter solution, home-made from audio adapters. It's ok to mess around but insufficient since double stereo output is a non-negotiable requirement for me.

Sorry, guys, I mean iPAd not iPod.

Djay Pro + Zalman Soundcard + Apple Lightning USB Camera Connection Kit.

The Zalman Soundcard is a Peasly $8 and no external power is required on my phone or pad and gives you 3 separate stereo outputs. Buying and Audio 2 for the sole purpose to play off a phone or ipod is overkill if you are just testing the waters.

This setup works on my Iphones and Ipads, no reason it won't work on an iPod Touch.

Honestly though, DJing on a phone size screen is a gimmick at best, even on a ipad mini standalone is a stretch without a separate controller.

You are limited somewhat by the internal storage (Djay Pro allows you to stream straight from Spotify though).

Oh wow I didn't know about the Zalman sound card.
I think I will have to return my Audio 2 and pick one of those up instead!
Why is the Audio 2 so much more expensive than this?
If I hooked up the Zalman to PA speakers would the volume be loud enough?
