Any Formula Sound FF-4000 users?

Any Formula Sound FF-4000 users? Is it that better sounding than the rest or that's just a hype? Any shortcomings to point out?

don't forget that they are now quite old, but yes, they do sound amazing...but not much better than a xone 62 or ecler macXX

The 62 is lovely, but the EQs are weird. The low EQ has resonance when you turn all the way down. A bit annoying.

I would rate the sound quality of any formula sound mixers above almost all others, having used one for a long long time and they are probably my favorite among all dj mixer brands.

If you can live without onboard FX or filters, not much will surpass one.

its not just about sound quality either, its build quality and "feel" is what makes these mixers so freaking nice to use.

The 62 is pretty much the second mixer A&H released under the Xone brand.

I like the "open doors" for external fx units on the FF4000, wonder if the workflow is user friendly or it can get confusing at times.

Talking about the A-B loop assign that is routed thru the x-fader.

I have an FF6000 (with rotary faders), which I love. Sound quality is great (although I doubt there are significant differences between it and other top end mixers from A&H, Rane or Pioneer). What sold it to me was (1) the spacious, well thought out layout which makes it a pleasure to mix on and (2) external and internal build quality - the through hole circuit board design should make it easily and widely repairable long after more fancy digital mixers are scrap.

I've never used the FX loops so I can't comment on how easy they are to use, although it's nice to know the option is there.

Are the rotary faders apart enough from each other to allow comfort operation?
