Default Midi mapping mixer to ableton?

Saw a dude DJing wit a launch pad and a DJM mixer he midi mapped to ableton.
I have a push 2 and I am interested in doing the same.

How does one midi map a mixer to ableton?

How can u map ableton channels to your mixers channels, etc.???

Does anyone know of some "budget" mixers that I can accomplish this with??

    Thanks tribe.

    Check out the CMD MM-1.
Mapping in Ableton is fairly simple - you just enable the "MIDI Learn" button - click on the control on the screen - move the physical control on your hardware that you wish to assign - then disable "MIDI Learn" and test your new mapping.

Ya I understand that part, and I looked into that mixer, interesting, could you midi learn onto any mixer as well or are u saying this specifically for that CMD?

I've tried with MM-1. It's not a mixer but it's a nice controller and it's also cheap that's why I recommended it to you. Keep in mind that not all mixers out there are midi-mappable and that you'll have to do some research before buying one.

Correct. You can also use your built in audio card until you find some good deal on the external one.
