Pioneer cdj 2000 linking

Hey,
I have one question about linking on the pioneer 2000 cdj.
So let's say the dj playing before me has their usb in the right cdj, but playing last track on the left cdj.
How do I connect mine?
Should i just plug it in the left one and then push link on the right one and play it there or how does this work?

yes plug into any (as long as they are linked) open usb, then hit link.
