Default Just checked some prices on Pioneer gear

Say for example on the DJ Techtools site:

    Pioneer DJS-1000 Sampler
    $1199.00

    Pioneer XDJ-1000MK2
    $1199.00

    Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2
    $2197.00

Couldn't the CDJ-2000NXS2 prices be closer to the DJS-1000 Sampler prices? they seem well out of step in comparison...

is this just a stupid thread?
Does Pioneer prices just really suck?

    Ding ding ding ding ding!

I think they know they can get away with it as it is club standard across the planet so they just sit back & enjoy taking our money.

The CDJ2000NXS2 is an overpriced player and always has been (imo). As long as it is on equipment riders, they will still be sold, though.

Supply and demand ;-) The demand for the DJS-1000 will certainly never reach the one of the 2000NXS2. Yes, they are overpriced, but as long as the company can sell the units for this price, why should they reduce it? The profit margin is ridiculously high, but hey that's business. And the other thing is, there is absolutely no need to buy the NXS2. The bonus features it has compared to an XDJ-1000/700 is certainly not worth the money.

I am very likely to keep playing on Pioneer gear (since it's the standard) but am very glad that Denon are making a direct competitor. Hopefully this will force Pioneer to really innovate on their next media player, and give a lot more value for the money. The Prime looks great but I'm not sure about the long-term investment, while Pioneers tend to keep their value fairly well.
